Interpreter, the

The Movie begins with the arrival of a film crew to a mass grave of people killed in a stadium, where they are trapped and all but one are murdered.

Back in New York, the UN General Assembly is evacuated because of a malfunctioin the security system of one of the interpreters (Kidman). When she returns to get her bag, she hears something suspicious but we are not sure what it was and why it spooked her so much.

When it turns out that she exposed a plot to assassinate the leader who was responsible for the mass murder at the stadium and needs protection, the Secret Service agent assigned to protect her (who has his own personal problems like everyone else) does not believe her. Meanwhile, everyone is watching her. While the agent and his partner try to secure the leader, they come up with the idea of turning the interpreter into the bait in the trap they set up for the assassins, but the agent suspects that she is involved in the assassination attempt. After a few more surveillances and murders, chases and escapes, while in between the connection between the agent and the interpreter becomes tighter, even though she is not ready to trust him, the truth is gradually revealed...

Will the deposed leader be murdered or put on trial before the International Court in the Hague, for all to see?

And I must say that Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman are perhaps the oddest couple I've ever seen in a Movie…
